What are Eco Living Communities
Eco Living Communities are a collection of Green Energy Neighbourhoods© in Ontario, that are dedicated to making pure green energy the primary source of electricity used by their communities.  As large groups, Green Energy Neighbourhoods enjoy buying power advantages that are not normally available to independently operating individuals.  Similar to organizations such as Sam's club, Eco Living Communities can get products and services at huge discounts so that they become affordable for all its members.
Pure Green Energy
We define Pure Green Energy to be the power generated from sources of energy that are naturally occurring and readily available.
The generation of pure green energy is a zero emissions process.  This allows pure green energy producers to also claim to help reduce pollution since they prevent pollution from being generated if the power was to be produced by dirty power source.
Wind, solar, and wave powered generators are the only sources of pure green energy.
Eco Living Communities will work with you and your community to make this happen.  The following are the brief steps that are necessary:
  1. Invite Eco Living Communities to your Neighbourhood by signing the guestbook to say "I'm in!".

  2. Work with us to spread the word in your community... we operate information campaigns through local volunteers and we encourage individuals to let their family and friends know about us.  Remember we need a fair sized group in order to gain the advantage needed to get this done.

  3. When the community has reach critical mass, we will hold an education session to bring everyone up to speed on the status of their community group and the exact manner in which the "greening" of the local power grid will take place.  Members will get the chance to ask questions and influence the process.

  4. When all is agreed, members will have individual property assessments and sign a simple contract to allow them to host a green energy generator and get paid from the energy it generates.
What if I want to sell my Green Energy property
By FIT/microFIT rules, the green energy project is linked to the property on which the project is located.  If move, you may either sell the project with the property, or move the project to your new property.
Green Energy Neighbourhoods gain prestige from their income-generating green energy production.  This added prestige enables Green Energy properties to literally sell themselves.  The prestige also increase the resale value of property in these neighbourhoods because of their obvious 'clean, green' attributes plus the fact that they will continue to generate income for the new buyers.
Your need to sell the project with the property is okay with us, and if you'd like a green energy project on your new property, the offer is the same as it is now.
In the unlikely event that you must remove the project in order to sell, then you can do so.  If you intend to move the project to your new property, we will assist you with the removal and re-installation and we will find a mutually agreeable solution to the moving expense.  If the project will not be relocated then there will be no way for us to help you cover the removal cost at a later date using our preferred method of letting the project pay for itself; therefore, the removal must be at your expense and the project components must be return to the community group.
Please be aware that a relocation will be the same as a new project under FIT/microFIT rules, i.e. we must submit the new location for approval before it can be re-installed.
