A Cleaner Greener World For All Let's Begin...

The Ontario Green Energy Act... ever heard of it?  If you own property in Ontario, then you need to know about it!

The Ontario government wants you to make the shift to clean renewable energy and they're willing to pay you to do it.

This is a great incentive to help you do your part to clean up the environment... cleaner air through green energy that you produce and sell to the province, what more could you ask for?

For one thing, you may want to ask for a little help to get started.
These days, we all could use a little help, and in this case you'll need more than just a little help. The good new is that you've come to the right place for help.

Eco Living Communities can give you all the help you need, all you have to do is ask.  Invite us to transform your community into one of our Green Energy Neighbourhoods

Please sign our guest book and ask any question you have or take our online eco communities survey to get the ball rolling.

A few facts about microFIT, the Ontario Green Energy Act

microFIT - means micro Feed In Tariff and it is the method by which the government will apply  Ontario's Green Energy Act to provide incentives for Ontario residents to go green by producing clean energy from renewable sources.

microFIT is different from Net Metering because you produce energy primarily to service the power grid. With Net Metering, power from renewable energy generation facility is used to directly power your home first, and extra energy goes through your utility meter and onto the power grind.

But with microFIT, the power from the renewable energy generation facility goes directly to the power grid through a separate meter before it has a chance to be used by your home.  This is great because we currently pay way less for using energy than we will get paid for generating it.

Ontario's microFIT is one of the truly inspirational programs by any government in Canada.  It can help Canada reduce it's carbon footprint, stimulate the local economy, generate cash for participants, and generate clean eco-energy all at the same time.

Let's come together and get this done for our communities!

A few facts about our Green Energy Neighbourhoods

Green Energy Neighbourhoods are what we call communities that have invited us in to outfit their members with microFIT alternative energy generation systems under the Ontario Green Energy Act.

It's always free to join a Green Energy Neighbourhood and our services are always free for its members... because you're our neighbours, of course!

Members of a Green Energy Neighbourhood host a FIT or microFIT project on their property and benefits directly for the FIT program and indirectly from the clean energy it produces.

To invite us into your neighbourhood or to join with your neighbours who have already invited us, please complete our eco-interest survey and leave whatever contact information you'd like.  We'll reply as soon as we can and contact you when it's time.

Why we establish and support Green Energy Neighbourhoods
We live in Ontario and we see the potential for microFIT to move us one step closer to a pollution free energy supply.  Plus we want to help rejuvenate local economies and put our neighbours back to work and earning income.
Most people who know about micorFIT would love to jump in.  Even those who don't really worry about global warming love the income generating aspects of this program.
Unfortunately getting started in microFIT is neither easy, free nor cheap for individuals to do by themselves. That's why we've created Eco Living Communities.  We will make it easy, free and cheap for our community members to start producing clean solar or wind energy and reaping the rewards from microFIT
Getting started is easy, just join your local Green Energy Neighbourhood, since joining is free and our services are free Eco Living Communities members will get their microFIT online quickly.
We will stick with you for the entire period allowed under Ontario's Green Energy Act.  That's a 20 year commitment to each and every one of our members!

Only best friends and family can promise that... so I guess that makes us one of them!

What new microFIT rules will mean for new Green Energy Neighbourhoods Members

Mid 2010, The OPA decided that middle-class households should not participate in the FIT program because they weren't really the community members mentioned by the Green Energy Act, just businesses and the upper class.

They've recently reversed that decision somewhat... now middle-class households are less equal community members who should be dissuaded from trying to bring clean energy into their neighbourhoods.

Middle-class homes are now 12% less valuable of members of the community members... judging from the unscheduled change in the offering for their participation as a community-group member.  Eco Living Communities will continue to fight for your rights spelled out in the Green Energy Act of 2009.
